Wrexham Theory Test Centre Directions
Car
Wrexham is a border town located on the Welsh side of the Wales/England border, serviced by the A483 and A5156. Its testing venue is located on Henblas Street, in the heart of Wrexham town centre.
Parking
Dependent on the timing of your allocated test slot, you may be able to access free local parking. Car parks on Market Street and at Wrexham Library are free to use after 11am each day, but do impose charges and a maximum stay threshold before this time. Indeed, if parking prior to 11am, both sites price one-hour tickets at £1.00, and three-hour tickets at £1.80, with a maximum parking duration of three hours in force. Disabled spaces are available at either facility, and users can pay for parking via cash, or the JustPark service line.
Market Street Car Park is located around a two-minute walk away from the venue. If using this site, simply exit the car park turning right, and continue along Henblas Street to reach the test centre. Wrexham Library is a little further away, stationed roughly 300m north of the test site. Head south from the town’s northern outskirts, using Chester Road and Queen Street to land on Henblas Street.
Alternative local car parks can be found here.
Bus
There are multiple bus services heading towards Wrexham town centre, and therefore numerous routes pass in close proximity to the test venue. Appropriate services are documented on this page.
If taking the bus, please look to select a route which schedules one of the following stops:
Market Street, Hill Street, Wrexham Bus Station. All three of these destinations are within five minutes walking distance of Henblas Street.
Train
There are two train stations located in Wrexham, and both are within a kilometre of the test centre. The closest station is Wrexham Central, which is a short, seven-minute walk away from Henblas Street. The onwards journey to the test site from this station involves an eastbound walk along Hill Street and Hope Street, before descending onto Henblas Street and onto the venue.
However, please note that Wrexham Central only facilitates local train services, with national routes heading into Wrexham General. If arriving into Wrexham General, we would still advise heading onto Henblas Street on foot. To do so, simply head south-east on Regent Street, and merge onto Hope Street. At the end of the road turn left, and then immediately right, and locate the venue around 50m up on your left-hand side. A connecting bus would only reduce journey time by roughly three minutes, and taking a second train into Wrexham Central would actually add to your overall travel duration.
Further information relating to both Wrexham train station’s is available on the Transport for Wales website.
