Car

Inverness’ testing venue is located on Longman Drive, around 1.5km north of the city centre. The A82 offers a route into the city from the west, and the A96 from the east, whilst the A9 facilitates travel heading towards Inverness from both the north and south.

Parking

Given the test centre’s relative remoteness, nearby parking options are extremely limited. There is strictly no parking permitted on-site, which is advertised on entry. The nearest dedicated parking facility is just under one kilometre away, but there is the opportunity for on-street parking on Longman Drive.

If you’re comfortable with a considerable onwards journey to the venue from where your vehicle is parked, you can discover appropriate parking sites by heading to the relevant Parkopedia page.

Bus

Again, due to the venue’s destination, the closest bus routes are still within a substantial walking distance of the test centre. If this is your preferred method of transport, we would encourage you to find services heading towards Longman Road.

There are several bus stops on this road, including Seafield Road, Longman Coach Depot, and Inverness College, which are all around a ten-minute walk away from the venue. If using a stop on Longman Road, please be aware that there are two potential routes that will facilitate your onwards journey to the test centre.

If you’ve exited your respective bus service south of the Harbour Road roundabout, then use Harbour Road and Cromwell Road to head west towards Longman Drive. Alternatively, if you’ve alighted well beyond the aforementioned roundabout, progress westbound on Henderson Road and Lotland Street. At the end of this road, turn right onto Longman Drive, and advance north towards the test site.

Train

Inverness Train Station is situated in the heart of the city centre, approximately 1.5km away from Longman Drive.

As previously mentioned, any onwards bus journey will facilitate travel only to Longman Road, and therefore will require a further ten-minute walk to the test site. Therefore, given the total travel time to walk from station to venue is about twenty minutes, it might be worth just walking directly to the test centre.

To do this, head north-west on Academy Street and Chapel Street (both part of B865). Advance straight on at the first roundabout onto Shore Street, and then again at the second roundabout. Emerge onto Cromwell Road, and then continue onto Longman Drive, citing the venue on your right-hand side on arrival. Bus services heading towards Longman Road can be taken from Inverness Bus Station, which is located roughly 300m north of the local train station.
