Cardiff Theory Test Centre Directions
The testing area is located on the third floor of Limerick House. On arrival, please press 3 on the door panel to gain access to the correct part of the building.
Car
Cardiff’s test venue is located within Limerick House on Churchill Way, just to the north of the city centre. The M4 and A48(M) offer good onward connections towards the city, and the A4161 passes in close proximity to the test site. Although Limerick House officially is located on Churchill Way, the building is accessible via North Edward Street.
Parking
There are numerous nearby parking options. We would recommend using either the Capitol Shopping Centre Car Park, or St. David’s Dewi Sant. Both of these facilities are extremely reasonably priced, charging £3 for two hours of parking. Please note that a two-hour timeframe provides ample time, from either car park, to navigate the onwards journey to the venue, conduct your test, and return to your vehicle.
These sites accommodate disabled parking, and electronic vehicle charging is available at St. David’s. However, please be aware that whilst all methods of payment are accepted at Capitol Shopping Centre, only card transactions are facilitated at St. David’s Dewi Sant.
Please be aware that parking is also available at Helmont House, which sits adjacently to Capitol Shopping Centre. However, this must be booked in advance. We would therefore encourage you to use one of the aforementioned sites. The Capitol Shopping Centre is located on North Edward Street, and is subsequently within one minute’s walk of the test venue. St. David’s Dewi Sant is approximately 500m away from the test centre, requiring a journey that will take roughly six minutes to complete.
Further parking options can be found here.
Bus
Given the test site’s central location, there are many bus services which will take you within walking distance of the test centre. The following list is not exhaustive, but highlights the main routes which have scheduled stops either on or close to Churchill Way:
Numbers: 122, 28B, 400, 45, 58, 63, 94, C1 (for alternate routes, please click the following link)
If using any of the above services, or indeed any other bus on Cardiff’s local network, please look to exit at any of the following bus stops:
Churchill Way, Fitzalan Place (Adamstown), Guildford Crescent, Queen Street.
All of these stops are within a five-minute walk of the testing venue.
Train
There are a number of train stations located within Cardiff, but the most appropriate for onwards access to the test centre are Cardiff Queen Street, and Cardiff Central.
Cardiff Central, which welcomes passengers from various parts of the UK, is situated around a kilometre southwest of the venue. To reach the test centre from here, please cut through the city centre, progressing north-east towards Churchill Way.
Cardiff Queen Street is located within a two-minute walk of the venue, and should therefore be the preferred option. The station is positioned on Station Terrace, opposite North Edward Street.
Further station information can be found here.
