Bristol Theory Test Centre

Bus

There are numerous bus services which have stops close to the testing site. We’ve highlighted several key routes which may be of use. If these aren’t suitable, please check out alternative transit lines by visiting the relevant ‘Moovit’ page, located here.

• 10: The number 10 bus heads between Thornberry to the northeast of Bristol, and Avonmouth to the southwest, and cuts through the northern suburbs of Bristol. If using this service, please exit at UWE (University of West England) The Gardens stop. To reach Building 340, head into the business park via the entrance opposite, and advance north-east. The building is located on ‘The Crescent’, towards the eastern perimeter of the complex. This journey will take approximately five minutes to conduct.
• M1: This route connects Cribbs Causeway with Hengrove Park, heading north/south through Bristol in the process. Again, please leave the bus at UWE The Gardens, and then follow the guidance as above to locate the test centre.
• M3: This service operates between Bristol city centre and Emerson Green, travelling in north-east/south-west directions. Once again, exit at UWE The Gardens, and refer back to the onwards travel instructions above.

Train

There are two train stations close to the test centre, which are Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbey Wood.

Bristol Parkway is the larger of the two stations. The venue is around a thirty-minute walk away from the station, or roughly fifteen minutes via public transport. If heading to the test site on foot, please advance south-east on Church Road, and then use Oxleigh Way to join the Stoke Gifford bypass. Continue southbound to the end of the road, and then turn right. Head west on Filton Road until the Bristol Business Park entrance emerges to your left-hand side. Building 340 is around 250m south-east of here, on ‘The Crescent’.

If you prefer travelling by bus, please take the number 19 Bath City Centre service to UWE The Gardens. Please follow the earlier guidance set from this destination to the test venue.

The onwards journey to the test centre from Filton Abbey Wood is slightly shorter, but fewer train routes pass through this station. Abbey Wood generally facilitates travel from the southwest of England and Wales. The station is located approximately 2 kilometres away from the test site; a journey which will take around twenty-five minutes on foot to navigate. Please note that there are no appropriate connecting bus services from this station.

Head eastbound on Filton Road for just under 2km, before turning right onto Coldharbour Lane. Continue south to the business park entrance, and then cross the length of the site to reach Building 340.

If you’re travelling by car, the nearest parking is at the Bristol First Hotel, costing £1 per hour. It is within a minute’s walk of the test centre.

Bus

Bristol bus station is located on Marlborough Street and is approximately a 14 minute walk to the test centre, 0.7 miles away.

Train

Temple Meads station is 0.3 miles away, taking approximately 7 minutes to walk to the test centre. The train station address is:
