Aberdeen Theory Test Centre Directions
The testing area itself is located within Suite 2 on the first floor of Union Point, which is a large, grey office-style building located opposite the North Link Ferries terminal. The building is signposted on arrival.
Car
Aberdeen’s test venue is located within the Union Point building on Blaikie’s Quay, just to the south of the city centre. The A90 should be utilized if approaching Aberdeen from the north or south, and the A96 can be used to navigate towards the city from the west.
Parking
There are a limited number of spaces directly outside Union Point, however these are restricted to electronic vehicles only (charging facilities are available). Therefore, regardless of vehicle type, we would advise you planning an alternative parking site. Head to the relevant Parkopedia page for a full list of local car parks; we’ve highlighted two convenient options below.
Commercial Quay Car Park is located just 150m away from Union Point, on the opposite of the harbour. Alternatively, Union Square Car Park, which is in close proximity to both Aberdeen Bus & Train Stations, is just a five-minute, westbound walk from the test centre. To access the venue from here, exit the car park and cross over Market Street (A956), and continue east on Commercial Quay. At the roundabout, turn left onto Regent Road, and then progress north towards Blaikie’s Quay. Union Point will be located on your right-hand side on arrival. A two-hour parking ticket at this facility will cost £3.50, which will provide you more than enough time to reach the venue, conduct your test, and then return to your vehicle.
Bus
There are multiple bus routes in operation that pass close to Union Point. If using one of these services, we would encourage you to target arrival at one of the following stops:
Union Square Bus Station, Palmerston Road, Commercial Quay. All of these stops are within six minutes walking distance of the venue, with Commercial Quay located directly opposite.

Train
Aberdeen Train Station facilitates travel from all over Scotland and several parts of the UK. The station is situated on the opposite side of Union Square from its aforementioned car park. The onwards journey to the test site merges with the route from Union Car Park, but first you’ll need to head east on Guild Street, and cut southwest through the square to arrive at Market Street (A956), where the two sets of directions converge.
For live departure & arrival times, station facilities and accessibility information, please visit the Scotrail website, located here.
