Dundee Theory Test Centre Directions

Seagate House is a large, grey, office-style building. The testing area is located in Suites 1 & 2, located on the first floor.

Car

Dundee’s testing venue is located within Seagate House, on Seagate, on the north-eastern outskirts of the town centre. The test site is located nearby the A92, which facilitates travel over the Tay Bridge towards St. Andrews. Dundee is also serviced by the A90, which approaches the town from the north and west.

Parking

There are plenty of local car parks in close proximity to Seagate House, most of which are priced relatively inexpensively. Queen Street and East Port Car Parks are perhaps the most convenient options, both located within five minutes’ walking distance of the test centre. These facilities are positioned opposite one another, with East Port Car Park situated slightly further away, on the far side of the A991.

Parking for two hours at either of these sites is sufficient time to navigate the onwards journey to Seagate House, conduct the test, and return to your vehicle. A two-hour parking ticket costs £2.50 at both car parks, and all payment types are accepted (you’ll also have the option of paying by the JustPark service line).

To reach the venue from East Port, simply head across Marketgait (A991), and continue south along Queen Street and Seagate, passing Queen Street Car Park to your left-hand side.

Alternative local parking options can be found here.

Bus

There are multiple bus services that head towards Dundee town centre from various locations, and therefore numerous routes pass close to Seagate House. Furthermore, Dundee Bus Station is located on Seagate, directly opposite the test venue. Therefore, there should be no issue with accessing the test centre via bus.

For a full list of services and alternative nearby bus stops, please visit the following page.

Train

Dundee Train Station is based to the south of the town centre, just off the banks of the River Tay. The station is approximately 1 kilometre from Seagate House, and therefore the onwards journey to the test centre takes around thirteen minutes on foot.

To navigate this route, advance eastbound on Riverside Drive, and then north on the A991. After arriving into Dundee town centre, head north-east, using High Street and Seagate to make your way to Seagate House. Alternatively, the number 99 St. Andrews bus service can be taken from the train station bus stop, which will transport you to Dundee Bus Station. As previously mentioned, you’ll then just need to cross the road to reach the test centre.

Dundee Train Station welcomes passengers from all over Scotland and several parts of England. For further station information, please head to the ScotRail website.
