Car

Boston’s test venue is located on Wide Bargate, just on the northern outskirts of the town centre. The testing area itself is located within the Shoe Zone retail unit. If travelling to Boston from either the north or south, please head for the A16, which curves around the east side of the town. Conversely, if arriving from the east or west, please use the A52, which converges with the A16 on either side of Boston.

Parking

There are numerous local car parks within walking distance of the test venue. We would recommend using either the Bargate Green facility, or the Cattle Market.

Bargate Green Car Park is based just 150m east of the test centre, and is therefore the most convenient parking option. This site does have a two-hour maximum stay policy in place, but this provides more than ample time to walk to the venue, conduct your test, and return to your vehicle. Parking for this duration costs £2.50, which can be paid for via cash, or by using the MiPermit service line. Disabled parking is accommodated here, and charging facilities for electronic vehicles are available. Please note that this car park is only open for one hour between 5.00pm-6.00pm on a Wednesday.

Cattle Market Car Park is marginally cheaper, charging £2.00 for two hours parking. Again, disabled parking and electronic vehicle charging facilities are both available at this site. This car park is located around 50m east of Bargate Green.

Bus

If agreeable to your personal journey, we would recommend using either the number 57 or DN02 bus services, which both have scheduled stops within five minutes walking distance of the test centre (Boots bus stop and Parkside Surgery stop respectively).

If using an alternative service, please target arrival at the ‘Interchange’ bus stop. This is located within 20m of Shoe Zone.

Train

Boston’s train station is situated to the west of the town centre, just under one kilometre away from the test site. The onwards journey to the venue will take approximately ten minutes, and is navigated by heading east through the town centre.

To access the test centre, advance over the River Witham, continue along Church Lane and Strait Bargate, before finally merging onto Wide Bargate, which immediately splits into two roads on entry. Please opt for the right-hand avenue, and progress towards the testing venue.
