Belfast Theory Test Centre Directions

City Exchange sits on the corner of Gloucester Street and Seymour Street. The building has a cream-coloured exterior and dominated by large glass windows. Arthurs Coffee Shop, located on the ground floor, is visible on arrival.

Car

Belfast’s testing venue is located within the City Exchange building, located on Gloucester Street in the heart of the city centre. If travelling by car, please note that Belfast is serviced by the M2 and M5 to the north, and via the M1 to its south. The test site is situated just off the A24, which heads towards the centre of Belfast from the south-east.

Parking

For either of the local car parks mentioned below, we suggest that a two-hour parking ticket will provide ample time to reach the venue, conduct your test, and return to your vehicle.

Montgomery Street Car Park is perhaps the closest option, with the site positioned just around the corner from the test centre. Parking is charged at £6.90 for two-hour coverage. Please be aware that cash is not accepted at this facility. Disabled parking is accommodated. The onwards journey to the venue will take no longer than two minutes; cross Montgomery Street and head onto Gloucester Street, continuing eastbound until you arrive at City Exchange.

Cromac Street Car Park is much cheaper, charging just £0.60 per hour for parking. Furthermore, this building has on-site electronic vehicle charging facilities. Disabled spaces are also available. The car park is positioned around 500m south of the test centre.

Alternative local parking sites can be found here.

Bus

Given the venue’s city centre location, there are a vast amount of bus routes that pass in close proximity. To plan your personal journey using Belfast’s local bus network, please click the following link.

When reviewing potentially appropriate bus services, please keep in mind that the following bus stops are within a five-minute walk of City Exchange:

May Street (St. George’s Market), Victoria Street, Victoria Square (Chichester Street), Donegal Square.

Train

There are two major train stations in Belfast, Lanyon Place and Great Victoria Street. Lanyon Place, which is the larger of the two stations and welcomes services from all over Northern Ireland and parts of the Republic of Ireland, is located closer to Gloucester Street.

To access the test site from Lanyon Place, head westbound along East Bridge Street towards the city centre, and then progress north-west using Oxford Street and May Street to land on Seymour Street. Continue northbound, reaching the end of Seymour Street, and locating the City Exchange building on the Gloucester Street junction.

For further information about Lanyon Place Train Station, please visit the Ireland Trains website.
